Application of aluminum anti-theft bottle caps on wine

As we all know, wine bottle stoppers are generally packaged with corks. However, since Stelvin successfully developed screwcaps suitable for wine in 1984, more and more wine producers have gradually adopted its Stelvin screwcap (Note: this bottle cap is an aluminum anti-theft bottle cap with a special material inner pad). At present, the sales volume of this bottle cap has exceeded 1 billion, and it has maintained a rapid growth momentum in recent years. With its own advantages, aluminum anti-theft bottle caps have gradually replaced the cork market and become another major theme of wine packaging. The following is a brief introduction to the advantages of aluminum anti-theft bottle caps in wine packaging.
1. Sealing performance
In the past, many people believed that the bottle stoppers of bottled wines were corks, and the use of corks was not a method of completely isolating air, which was conducive to the development and aging of wine in the bottle. Recently, the Australian Southcop Wine Company announced the results of a study: oxygen is not necessary for the continued development of bottled wine. For the development of high-quality wines, the ideal bottle stopper should have stable low or even zero permeability. The bottle stoppers commonly used in the wine industry (mainly traditional natural corks and synthetic stoppers) are either too permeable or unstable. There are also errors in different bottle mouths, and the different elasticity of the corks leads to different sealing degrees.
The inner pad of the aluminum anti-theft bottle cap uses a special sealing material. Its low permeability and zero permeability characteristics effectively prevent the oxidation of the wine in the bottle, keeping the wine fresh and retaining the fruity aroma. No chemical substances will be produced even after long storage time. Currently, the main sealing gaskets on the market are Saran/tin and Saranex. The following figure shows the oxygen permeability and water permeability indicators of the sealing material:
Note: 1. Oxygen permeability refers to the oxygen permeability per square meter in 24 hours under normal atmospheric pressure and 23°C.
2. Water permeability refers to the water vapor permeability per 24 hours under 23°C and 93% humidity.
(1) The PVDC coating of the Saran/tin gasket is in contact with the wine, and the health and environmental protection requirements of the wine.
Tin material has the characteristic of zero permeability, which completely isolates the wine from the outside air and prevents the wine from being oxidized;
This gasket is suitable for packaging wine with a storage period of more than 10 years.
(2) Saranex Two layers of PVDC and Saranex polymer, with its low permeability, are suitable for packaging wine with a storage period of less than 10 years.
The main components of the two gaskets are foamed PE materials, which have high elasticity and can meet the error size between different bottle mouths, thus achieving a good sealing effect.
