More European rosé wine producers are turning to aluminum for convenience and sustainability

As sales of rosé wines grow in the hot summer, more and more rosé wine producers are turning to aluminum caps. Even in traditional European markets, wineries are using convenient twist-on and aluminum caps, according to the Aluminium Closures Group.

Rosé wines are selling well in the French summer, and even many traditional wineries here are using aluminum caps for packaging design. In just five years, the industry's use of aluminum caps has grown to 38%.

The increase in outdoor events such as festivals and concerts, as well as the growing popularity of family barbecue parties, has driven the growing use of scrap aluminum in the wine industry. Aluminum caps have many advantages, such as easy opening and closing, easy transportation and storage, and no need to worry about spills, making them the first choice for consumers and wine manufacturers.

In the European market, the use of aluminum caps in the wine industry has been growing since 2010 as sales of non-vintage wines have increased. In 2016, the market share of aluminum bottled wine was 30%, which is on the rise.

Another advantage of aluminum caps is the sensory advantage, because there is no cork contamination. Absolute quality consistency from bottle to bottle. It is easy to store anywhere and people can see if the bottle has been tampered with.
